A university-level character acting competition was held in memory of Van Vijayi Nanubhai Desai, jointly organized by Sri Vanraj Arts and Commerce College, Dharampur and Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat.
Satishbhai Desai, founder president of Valsad's Rang Poonja Theater, said at the inauguration ceremony that one-act play or play is the best medium to convey an effective message to the society. Acting is the best art. It has an important contribution in personality formation. With this art one learns the lessons of fearless and effective presentation. It can be given a beautiful shape by conducting workshops in colleges.
In-charge principal Dr. V.D. Patel said that Nanubhai Desai, born in a Brahmin family, provided employment to the people of Dharampur-Kaparada-Vansda at the local level with the welfare of the tribal people and enlightened the dark area with education. He remained a tribal among tribals while working among tribals. Dr. C.N.Nayak spoke about how drama can be made from real life with the words of the great playwright Shakespeare. Bharatbhai Desai, president of the ceremony, congratulated the students.
The result of the monologue competition was announced by judges Satishbhai Desai and Het Desai. In which the rotating shield of acting competition from monologue was awarded to B.Ed.College Barumal. Individual first prize went to Nikita Jadav District Institute of Education Training, Navsari and second prize to Parmar Krishna, B.Ed. College, Barumal, third prize to Ajaybhai, Vanraj Arts and Commerce College, Dharampur. Consolation prizes were given to all the contestants by Bharatbhai Desai, the President of the ceremony.
Prof. B. M. Rathod, Prof. NT Dhimar and Dr. Mitaben Parekh, Prof. Varshaben Patel conducted the competition. A large number of NSS students participated under the leadership of Prof. Shailesh Rathore. Prof. Shaileshbhai Rathore worked hard to make the program successful. The vote of thanks was done by Prof. Bharat Singh Rathore.
